Jakob Nowell joins original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh in the new video from Until the Sun Explodes, the band’s first full-length album since 1996
Sublime have released the official music video for “F.T.R.”, a track from their 2026 album Until the Sun Explodes.
The video returns the band to one of the environments closely associated with its early history: a Southern California backyard party. Friends and family gather around a pool and barbecue while Sublime perform outdoors, recreating the informal setting in which the band played during its earliest years.
Drummer Bud Gaugh said the video was filmed around a Fourth of July gathering and described the backyard setting as representative of where Sublime began.
Released on June 12, 2026 through Atlantic Records, Until the Sun Explodes marked Sublime’s first new full-length album in 30 years and the first with Jakob Nowell, son of late frontman Bradley Nowell, leading the band alongside founding members Eric Wilson and Gaugh.
“F.T.R.” appears as track eight on the album. The 2026 record also includes collaborations with H.R. of Bad Brains, G. Love, FIDLAR, Skegss and Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise.
The album followed a renewed period of chart activity for Sublime. Its title track, “Until the Sun Explodes,” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart for three consecutive weeks, while the 2025 single “Ensenada” previously spent eight weeks at No. 1.
The current Sublime lineup continues the band with Jakob Nowell on vocals, Eric Wilson on bass and Bud Gaugh on drums, combining the original rhythm section with a new generation of the Nowell family.
