The Queen of Pop teams up with the “Brat” singer for a new Stuart Price-produced version of her Confessions II track, with three-track CD editions also announced through Warner Records
Madonna and Charli XCX have announced their first official musical collaboration, “Danceteria Afterhours,” a new version of Madonna's song “Danceteria” from her 2026 studio album, Confessions II. The remix is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026, through Warner Records, following a series of social media teasers featuring the two artists.
The collaboration was previewed in a video shared on Madonna's Instagram account, showing the singers dancing together in a white studio while a snippet of the new recording plays. The announcement follows months of speculation about a possible collaboration after Madonna and Charli were seen together during Paris Fashion Week.
Produced by Stuart Price, “Danceteria Afterhours” revisits a track from Madonna's 15th studio album, Confessions II, released on July 3, 2026. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming Madonna's tenth chart-topping album in the United States. The original song also features an interpolation of Lou Reed's “Walk on the Wild Side.”

The new release will also be available in three limited-edition CD versions, each containing the Afterhours Mix featuring Charli XCX, a remix by Harry Romero and the original version of “Danceteria.” The physical editions are available through Madonna's official store.
The collaboration arrives ahead of Madonna's scheduled opening performance at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, marking her first musical performance at the ceremony since 2003.
