The “This Is What You Came For” and “One Kiss” hitmaker earns the Guinness World Records title for the largest attendance at a DJ set by a single artist following his February 8, 2026, Carnival performance
Calvin Harris has earned a Guinness World Records title after performing for an estimated 1.6 million people in São Paulo, Brazil, on February 8, 2026. The Scottish DJ and producer has been officially recognized for the largest attendance at a DJ set by a single artist, following his performance during the city's pre-Carnival celebrations.
Harris performed from a moving Carnival float along Rua da Consolação, wearing a Brazilian football shirt bearing the name “Calvinho.” His set included some of his biggest hits, among them “This Is What You Came For” featuring Rihanna, “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa, “I Need Your Love” featuring Ellie Goulding and “We Found Love,” his collaboration with Rihanna.
Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement in September 2026, more than seven months after the performance. Harris celebrated the recognition on social media on September 20, sharing his official certificate and footage of the massive crowd that attended the free street event.
The achievement adds another Guinness World Records title to Harris' career. In 2014, he was recognized for having the most UK Top 10 singles from one album, with nine tracks from his 2012 release 18 Months reaching that position on the Official Singles Chart.
Guinness also noted that a similar estimated audience of 1.6 million attended Madonna's free concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro on May 4, 2024. However, the two performances belong to different record categories, with Harris' achievement specifically recognizing attendance at a DJ set by a single artist.
