The mysterious woman pictured on Black Sabbath抯 debut album returns as musician Indreba with a five-track concept EP inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Jefferson Airplane and artificial intelligence
Louisa Livingstone, the woman featured on the cover of Black Sabbath抯 self-titled 1970 debut album, has released a psychedelic rock opera titled Alice under her musical project Indreba. The five-track EP, released August 25, 2026, explores artificial intelligence through a story inspired by Lewis Carroll抯 Alice in Wonderland.
Livingstone, whose identity as the mysterious black-cloaked figure on Black Sabbath抯 debut cover was revealed by Rolling Stone in 2020, has been recording music under the name Indreba, short for Incredible Dream Band. Earlier in 2026, she released 揥itch Woman and 揟he Woman by the Mill, two songs inspired by her connection to the British heavy metal pioneers and the photograph taken at Mapledurham Watermill in Oxfordshire.
Her latest project follows Alice as she develops an emotional attachment to artificial intelligence before discovering that the relationship is an illusion. The opening track, 揊eed Your Head, draws inspiration from Jefferson Airplane抯 1967 psychedelic rock classic 揥hite Rabbit, reimagining its Alice in Wonderland references through the internet, social media and algorithms.
Livingstone told Rolling Stone that she used AI-assisted tools during the recording process, including experiments with cloning her own voice and incorporating artificial instruments and vocals. The musician, who previously expressed skepticism about artificial intelligence, now considers it a creative tool whose results depend on the person using it.
