Partisan Music Acquires Firebird's Stake in OTM Music, Merges Publishing Operations With Left Music

Partisan Music has acquired Firebird Music's stake in independent publisher OTM Music, becoming its majority partner and combining the company with its existing Left Music publishing division. Announced on September 24, 2026, the agreement expands Partisan's music publishing operations while establishing OTM as the group's primary publishing business.

Founded by Alex Sheridan in 2017, OTM Music will incorporate Left Music's team and roster, creating an expanded independent publishing operation with staff in London, Los Angeles, New York and Paris. The combined roster includes Leon Michels, Gianluca Buccellati, Sudan Archives, Tom Brenneck, Andrew Aged, Sub Focus, Elizabeth Fraser and Metronomy's Joseph Mount.

Sheridan will continue as OTM Music's founder and CEO, working alongside Craig Michie, who becomes President and Head of North America, and Kate Sweetsur, Head of A&R. The agreement also combines the synchronization licensing teams of Partisan and OTM, expanding their ability to place music in film, television, advertising and other audiovisual productions.

The transaction strengthens the publishing business of Partisan Music, the independent group behind Brooklyn-based Partisan Records. Founded in 2007, the record label's roster includes Cigarettes After Sex, IDLES, PJ Harvey, Interpol, Laura Marling and Ezra Collective, alongside the catalog of Fela Kuti. Its recorded music division signed a global distribution agreement with Universal Music Group's Virgin Music Group in November 2024.

Firebird, which invested in OTM Music in 2023, is exiting its interest in the publisher following the transaction. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed in the announcement.
