Megadeth are marking the 40th anniversary of Peace Sells... But Who’s Buying? with a limited collector’s box set priced at $500 USD and restricted to 1,500 copies worldwide. The set is currently listed for preorder through the band’s official store, with shipping scheduled for late January 2027.
The collection is housed inside a custom red “Vic Realtors” briefcase inspired by the visual world of the 1986 album and is built around two vinyl releases. The first is a 40th Anniversary Gold LP of Peace Sells... But Who’s Buying?, while the second is a 140-gram black vinyl edition of Live at Phantasy Theater, Cleveland 1987.
The box also includes a 12-by-12-inch print autographed by Dave Mustaine, along with Megadeth-branded handcuffs, a de-classified dossier, recreated show memorabilia, a collector button pack, a commemorative challenge coin and embroidered patches.
Released on September 19, 1986, Peace Sells... But Who’s Buying? was Megadeth’s second studio album and the band’s first release for Capitol. The record featured Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson and included songs that became central to Megadeth’s early catalog, including “Wake Up Dead,” “The Conjuring” and the title track.
