A triumphant night of melodies, strength, and legacy at Barranco, Peru
For the first time ever, German power metal masters Masterplan stormed the Peruvian capital, delivering a career spanning set that thrilled fans with their signature blend of melody and might.
The show, held on October 28, 2015 in the district of Barranco, celebrated the band’s entire discography from their 2003 self-titled debut to their most recent studio effort Novum Initium—while also echoing the spirit of their live release Keep Your Dream Alive (Live), which gave this tour its name.
The concert ignited with Enlighten Me, one of the band’s earliest and most iconic songs, immediately setting the tone for a night of power and emotion. The crowd erupted again as Spirit Never Die followed, a track that not only defined their debut album but also established Masterplan’s creative DNA: uplifting themes wrapped in grand, melodic power metal.
The energy soared with Wounds, a gem from their acclaimed 2005 album Aeronautics, followed by Lost and Gone from MK II (2007). The band then returned to Aeronautics for Crimson Rider and I’m Not Afraid, both executed with precision and passion.
As the temperature inside the venue climbed, Masterplan took a nostalgic turn back to 2004 with the fan-favorite single Back for My Life a song that resonated deeply with the Peruvian audience and reminded everyone why this band remains one of Europe’s power metal pillars.
The journey continued with Time to Be King (2010) before moving into material from Novum Initium (2013), highlighted by Keep Your Dream Alive, a track that perfectly embodies Masterplan’s enduring optimism and musical craftsmanship. The setlist also revisited classics like Crystal Night, Soulburn, and the electrifying The Chance, sending waves of excitement across the crowd.
After a brief break, the Germans returned for a powerful encore, unleashing Heroes and Kind Hearted Light—both from their legendary debut before closing with the thunderous Crawling from Hell.
The band left the stage to a roar of applause, having given fans exactly what they came for: an authentic, high-caliber performance celebrating nearly fifteen years of metal excellence.
Masterplan didn’t just perform in Lima, they reaffirmed their place among the greats of European power metal.
