Tobias Sammet’s project expanded its global reach with the Moonglow album, a North American tour and a lineup featuring some of the most iconic voices in rock and metal
Avantasia, the symphonic metal project led by Tobias Sammet, marked a significant chapter in its evolution with the release of Moonglow and a series of live performances across North America.
Originally released through Nuclear Blast Records, Moonglow continued the project’s tradition of combining theatrical storytelling, melodic metal and a wide range of guest vocalists, further solidifying Avantasia’s identity as one of the most ambitious projects in the genre.
The album features an extensive lineup of internationally recognized artists, including Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids), Jørn Lande (Masterplan), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Geoff Tate (Queensrÿche), Michael Kiske (Helloween) and Bob Catley (Magnum), alongside additional contributions from Candice Night (Blackmore’s Night), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and Mille Petrozza (Kreator).
Built around 11 tracks, Moonglow reflects Avantasia’s ongoing approach to collaborative songwriting, blending diverse vocal styles with a cohesive narrative and musical direction.
In support of the album, Avantasia brought their large-scale production to North American audiences, performing a series of shows that highlighted the project’s live dimension and its ability to translate complex studio arrangements into a powerful stage experience.
