En la fecha de lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum, "Specters from the Old World" o en español "Espectros del Viejo Mundo", los venerados especialistas en black metal DARK FORTRESS estrenan un video clip del tema "Pali Aike.
Santura (guitarra) comenta sobre la canción: "Pali Aike" es un tema con un ritmo particularmente convincente y una atmósfera muy densa. Sin embargo, si quieres escuchar algunas cosas rápidas, ¡escucha el álbum en su totalidad! "
Morean (voz) explica, además: “Una oda a las violentas fuerzas volcánicas que dieron forma a nuestra Tierra, inspirada en mi visita a un sitio volcánico remoto y poco conocido en el sur de Chile.
El área había estado habitada durante miles de años antes de que llegaran los primeros colonos europeos, y estos nativos llamaron a este sitio el "hogar de los demonios" en su idioma ("pali aike").
Las letras son una descripción literal de cómo experimenté el lugar: inquietantemente embrujado, esparcido por los huesos blanqueados por el sol que dejaron cazar leones de montaña, y lleno de espejismos invocados por formas y colores impresionantes de formaciones de lava cubiertas de musgo y lagos que milagrosamente desaparecen cuando te acercas a ellos.
La historia violenta y trágica de este remoto rincón del mundo, le da un giro morboso al aura de abandono al ahora tranquila y pacífica del sitio. "
Después de una brecha de seis años, los hijos más oscuros de Alemania continúan donde "Venereal Dawn" (2014) los dejó conceptualmente, Morean (voz) explica: "Junto con el resto de la raza humana, el protagonista reencarnó como una criatura incorpórea de luz pura en 'On Fever's Wings', la última canción de 'Venereal Dawn'.
El nuevo álbum intenta dibujar una perspectiva de esa mente sobre la vida, reencarnando como energía pura y sin masa. El narrador se ha convertido en el tejido del universo mismo. Aquí es donde entran la física pesada y la teoría de cuerdas ".
"Spectre from the Old World" es más directo, más agresivo que sus predecesores. En ningún momento de la historia de DARK FORTRESS han llegado tan lejos en la oscuridad, solo para encontrar que el dominio de la astronomía no existe, el final es simplemente un final.
Grabado, producido, mezclado y masterizado por V. Santura en Woodshed Studios a lo largo de 2019, "Espectros del Viejo Mundo" marca un hito importante en el viaje de DARK FORTRESS a lo largo de los caminos actuales y espirituales.

(ROCKUM) - DARK FORTRESS release Video Clip for “Pali Aike”, “Spectres from the Old World” Out Now
Upon the street date of their new album, “Spectres from the Old World”, venerated black metal specialists DARK FORTRESS are releasing a video clip for “Pali Aike .
Santura (guitar) about the song: “’Pali Aike’ is a song with a particularly compelling groove and a very dense atmosphere. If you wanna hear some fast stuff, though, listen to the album in its entirety!”
Morean (vocals) further explains: “An ode to the violent volcanic forces that shaped our Earth, inspired by my visit of a remote, little-known volcanic site in Southern Chile. The area had been inhabited for many thousands of years before the first European settlers arrived, and these natives called this site the ‘home of the devils’ in their language (‘pali aike’).
The lyrics are a literal description of how I experienced the place - eerily haunted, scattered with sun-bleached bones left by hunting mountain lions, and filled with mirages invoked by awe-inspiring shapes and colors of moss-covered lava formations and lakes that miraculously disappear when you get close to them.
The violent and tragic history of settlement of this remote corner of the world gives a morbid twist to the site’s now tranquil and peaceful aura of abandonment.”
After a six-year gap, Germany’s darkest sons continue where “Venereal Dawn” (2014) left off conceptually, Morean (vocals) explains: “Together with the rest of the human race, the protagonist reincarnated as a disembodied creature of pure light in ‘On Fever’s Wings’, the last song of ‘Venereal Dawn’. The new album attempts to draw a picture of such a mind’s perspective on life - reincarnating as pure, massless energy. The narrator has become the fabric of the universe itself. This is where heavy physics and string theory come in.”
“Spectres from the Old World” is more direct, more aggressive than its predecessors. At no time in DARK FORTRESS’ history have they reached so far out into the darkness, only to find the domine of astronomy non-existent, the end merely an end.
Recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by V. Santura at Woodshed Studios throughout 2019, “Spectres from the Old World” marks an important milestone in DARK FORTRESS’ journey along actual and spiritual left-hand paths.
