CWF - 2 | Rockum Reviews - It's Rock Since 2002!

The AOR/West Coast supergroup CWF (Champlin, Williams, Friestedt) released their second album called "2" on May 15th via BLACK LODGE RECORDS.

"2" is a versatile and seductive Aor/West Coast album with beautiful fresh songs that give you life.

The album was recorded at Goldmine Studios & Friestedt Production Studio, by PETER FRIESTEDT, BILL CHAMPLIN & JOSEPH WILLIAMS. The mixing was done by Ronny Lahti at RLP Studio. Mastering was done by �ke Linton. The songs "Sometimes You Win" & "Look Away" were mixed by Bo Savik.

TOTO singer Joseph Williams teams up with former Chicago singer Bill Champlin and Swedish guitarist/Producer Peter Friestedt for a new Milestone AOR release following the success with the album CWF and the "Live In Concert" DVD that made it all the way to the top on the Swedish Chart!

The new album includes contributions from legendary Doobie Brothers vocalist Michael McDonald, Drummer John JR Robinson(Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones) Randy Goodrum (Toto, Chicago), and Tamara Champlin. Bill Champlin says "Joe's been on the road with TOTO doing their 40th anniversary the last few years so it's been a little harder to get this one done but as long as Peter keeps kickin' our butts the music eventually gets done"

With the TOTO haunting "10 Miles" to the CHICAGO sounding ballad "Between The Lines" and the soulflavoured "Love In The World" which is a duet between Michael McDonald and Bill Champlin to the straight forward rock track "Runaway Dancer" this album really takes you on a Journey:
Joseph Williams is the lead vocalist with Grammy winning US band TOTO. He has been busy as a composer of film and drama scores, as a session vocalist, backing singer and can be heard in Disney's animated feature film "The Lion King" as singing voice of the adult Simba ("Hakuna Matata" and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight").

Guitarist, producer & recording artist Peter Friestedt has released two critically acclaimed albums "LA Project" (2002) and "LA Project II" (2008) that got top reviews. Peter has been a busy session musician plays on records with David Foster and Fergie Frederiksen and touring Europe and Japan with Joseph Williams with who he also released the "Williams/Friestedt" album that was a top 40 hit in Scandinavia!

Bill Champlin was the lead singer of the legendary band Chicago for more than 25 years and is a founding member of the band Sons of Champlin. Champlin has written Grammy award winning songs for Earth Wind & Fire and George Benson, and worked with countless artists including Elton John, The Doobie Brothers and Steve Lukather of TOTO.
